BARISTA

APRIL 2026:

Outer Dark is an owner-operated coffee roaster located at 750 Market St in Downtown Tacoma. We are currently looking for a new barista to join our tight-knit team. 

Responsibilities Include:

• Opening and closing duties

• Making delicious drinks for customers

• Regularly cleaning, maintaining, and dialing-in espresso machine

• Guiding customers through our coffee lineup, offering additional information on processing and roasting styles as needed

• Grinding whole bean coffee

• Prepping food orders

• Prepping coffee bags for upcoming roasts

• Coordinating bulk coffee orders for local businesses

• Coordinating brewed coffee orders for local businesses

• Standing and moving all day, occasionally lifting 55lbs kegs

• Working shifts at the Haunted Farmers Market and Broadway Farmers Market

• Packaging whole bean coffee

• Cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning

What we’re looking for:

• At least 1 year hands-on barista experience

• 4-5 shifts per week, Monday through Thursday availability preferred, weekend availability for coverage and/or special events a plus

• A welcoming and friendly demeanor

• Strong work ethic with a focus on efficiency

• Motivated self-starter who’s comfortable interacting with customers all day

• Reliable… like for real though

• A no-ego team player who’s willing to jump in wherever needed to get the job done

• Someone well versed in coffee styles, growing regions, and processing methods preferred
